May 15th

Today I found myself sitting on a certain corner of my couch with a pillow on my lap and a laptop on the pillow, watching an incredible video made by Mariah Welch remembering three beautiful people. All of a sudden I realized exactly a year and one day ago at 9 in the morning I was sitting on this exact couch with this laptop, talking online to my friend Sunny who said I think something bad happened last night. After I assured him that I think we would know if something bad happened and that everything is fine, I got a text that changed the way I looked at this world, this life, and happiness all together. I felt like my world stopped and everyone else’s kept going because one magnificent girl that I looked up to, one enchanting boy that I adored and cherished spending time with, and one boy I had met a few times and took note of how incredibly warm and welcoming he was to a younger, insignificant stranger had been proclaimed dead and I had to accept that I would never get to see them on this earth again. I wasn’t even their best friend, their younger sister, or anything as important as those, I was just some one who got to meet them, spend time with them, share a laugh with them, some one blessed enough to look at them and say this is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, I’m so glad they got to be apart of my life. The world needs more people like them…there is no lesson great enough that is worth these three lives but if we have to find one, it is that you must smile, and laugh, and love, and appreciate everyday because even when you are young it could end in one split second. Your goodbye hug could very well be your last, mine was the very night before with the words “well this sucks but we’ll hangout next weekend for sure, I’ll hit you guys up I promise”. I can honestly say if some one were to ask me, before the accident, to name a few people who I enjoyed the most to be around because they were so joyful and inviting besides my close friends there is no doubt in my mind I would have mentioned Haeley Mcguire and Spencer Datt. Please do not be stupid, I know you believe it will never happen to you but it will, if you drink and drive it will happen to you, if you let others drink and drive it will happen to them. Maybe not the first time, maybe not the second, maybe not the tenth but it will happen. Everyone is beautiful, no one is invincible. Please just believe me on that. To the young people who read this, be kind to your friends, document things as much as you can, write things down that are worth remembering, tell people you love them as much as you want and tell the ones around you what they’re doing great instead of what they’re doing wrong. Help others, talk to the person no one is talking to, be smart, do whatever it is that you want to do because you’re living because what you want to do is possible and you are being given the opportunity to create beautiful things around you. Amazing people are being taken away from us everyday, we can’t afford to lose anymore to the hardships on earth. Happiness Forever. Rest in beautiful beautiful Paradise Spencer, Johnny, and Haeley.
